How to Choose a Terahertz Device Manufacturer for Private-Label or OEM

A practical checklist for evaluating terahertz and thermal wellness device manufacturers before committing to a private-label or OEM partnership.

How to Choose a Terahertz Device Manufacturer for Private-Label or OEM

Private-label and OEM arrangements can be a fast way to bring a terahertz or thermal wellness product to market under your own brand, but the manufacturer you choose determines almost everything downstream — product quality, compliance risk, and how much support you get when something goes wrong. Here is a practical checklist.

1. Ask for real certifications, not just logos

CE, ISO 9001/13485, and country-specific certifications (like China's 3C mark) should come with certificate numbers you can independently verify, not just a badge image on a slide deck. Ask for the actual PDF documents and the certifying body's name.

2. Check third-party lab test reports

A credible manufacturer should be able to provide test reports from an independent lab confirming key specs: actual frequency output, noise level (dB), and — importantly — device lifespan testing (rated hours and switch durability cycles), not just marketing claims.

3. Understand the warranty and repair model

Ask specifically what happens when a unit fails after your customer has it. Is the core component (the crystal/energy tube) replaceable, or does the whole unit need to be scrapped? This affects your long-term support costs.

4. Confirm minimum order quantities and customization scope

Private-label branding (custom packaging, custom colorway) usually has a lower MOQ threshold than full ODM (custom mold/design). Get clarity upfront on what tier of customization your target MOQ actually buys you.

5. Ask who else they supply

It is reasonable to ask whether a manufacturer has other clients in your target market, and how they handle regional exclusivity if that matters to your distribution agreement.
